Victimhood mindset is the cause of the destruction of true Irish culture.

And on top of that, True Irish Culture is at a certain point almost indistinguishable from TRUE German Culture, and TRUE Japanese Culture.
There is a higher form of culture and Tribe beyond trivial surface level material things.
The differences may be down to the tinted lenses of ethnicity and blood. After all, Jesus said "these are my true spiritual brother and sister, mother and father", namely there is a Tribe of Spirit in God and Truth.

It appears to me that modern martial arts is seen as an excuse to skip hard work.

Martial arts is a fix-everything pill. Which it is not, and anyone who says so is lying or deluded or selling you something.
To practice martial arts you must first unlock the full potential of your body: its power, speed, reflexes, and strength. There is only one correct narrow path to that goal. Calisthenics, or anything that even accidentally imitates calisthenics. This is 95% of True Martial Arts. The last 5% is techniques and practiced methods.
From my experience, Judo is a very effective martial art, not because of the techniques, or the amount that we spar, but because of the amount dedicated to bodyweight training.
