Drawing from his extensive experience in Ghana’s media industry Mr. @TheIsraelLaryea underscored that social media has become the primary space where the next generation is shaping public opinion. However, he emphasized that influence alone is insufficient, urging influencers and active digital voices to evolve beyond content creation into civic actors, individuals who not only shape conversations but actively engage in decision-making processes, organize communities, and contribute to real governance outcomes.

The panel discussion on “Youth Voices Roundtable: Youth, Leadership, and the Future of a Sustainable Africa” featured Mr. Alionzi Lawrence, Mayor of Arua City; Ms. Shadia Tushemerirwe; and Ms. Anna Nabulya, Programme Manager at UYDEL, and was moderated by Mr. Ivan Ssegawa Sebastian, JNLC Facilitator. The discussion emphasized the importance of youth embracing their African identity, strengthening research dissemination, and leveraging social media for entrepreneurship. Panelists also highlighted the persistent challenge of youth unemployment and the need for solution-focused leadership to drive sustainable development across Africa.
