When Special Counsel Mueller’s office secretly asked the Senate Judiciary Cmte (SJC) to voluntarily turn over our witness transcripts in the middle of our work on the Russiagate hysteria—we said the same thing you are saying now: a Senate resolution is required to provide Senate materials for use in a criminal proceeding. Plus, we're still taking other witness testimony. So, slow your roll Mr. Mueller.

We never got a subpoena.

However, that is a different question from public release by the Cmte itself. That can be done without a resolution of the full Senate, after proper redactions.

At SJC, we released ours w/o a Senate resolution, or even a Cmte vote—after we were done with our work. No one said boo. It's what voters expect.

The public's business ought to be public.

For some reason, though, the Sen Sel. Cmte on Intel (SSCI) chose to keep its underlying witness transcripts away from public scrutiny and did not include them with its final report release. This gives the public only a carefully crafted narrative w/o allowing them to check the underlying testimony and documents for themselves.

Yet, under SSCI Rule 9, after classified information is redacted, the remaining material—while still “committee sensitive” if it originated in executive session—*can* be released in the public interest of transparency if the Cmte so chooses.

The Cmte already released its final report. Years have passed. There is no longer a credible justification for keeping the underlying transcripts locked away from the public. Just make some minimal redactions where truly needed to protect sources and methods.

Then, release them all.

The Cmte is the arbiter of what remains cmte confidential under Senate Rule XXIX. It should authorize public release of redacted versions of the transcripts now, pursuant to its own authority.

That's what SJC did long ago.

Transparency does not require a full Senate resolution—just some work by the Cmte that voters have a right to expect and demand.

@ChuckGrassley repeatedly released SJC interview transcripts and oversight materials to the public without a Senate resolution and minimal redactions.

The principle is the same here: the Cmte controls its own work product. It should use that control to provide the public transparency on these long-closed cmte proceedings.

I have no dog in the fight and know nothing about who is allegedly blocking a transcript from going to some prosecutor somewhere in secret. You may be right that the report is totally false. The prosecutor may not want you to release it publicly, who knows. Mueller certainly didn't want us to publicly release ours. He wanted to get them in secret.

But my point is different.

The Cmte can and should provide more PUBLIC transparency. It can w/o a full Senate resolution—regardless of whether a prosecutor secretly gets an unredacted copy or not.

It's been far too long. All the transcripts should be public.

John "the Magician" McLaughlin, the former acting CIA Director, was at the University Oxford at the time of the anti Trump op. McLaughlin is friends with Dearlove and visited Cambridge as they were setting up the Russiagate op.

CIA operative Stef Halper claims to have both Oxford and Cambridge academic credentials ("two PhDs")

Halper's friend and business partner Richard Dearlove, former head of the MI6, was a Master of a Cambridge college

Christopher Steele, another Cambridge man who used to work for Dearlove and whom Dearlove endorsed, worked closely with Halper to coordinate the anti-Trump lies masquerading as "intelligence"
