Hello from @newportfolkfest! Friends, family, and misfits, “Vera” is out in the world now - you can buy and stream it at the link in our bio. Consider this our memoir, from us to you ✌️❤️
Hello friends! Join us while we play a few songs and sit down to have a conversation with our cosmic sister and band leader Brandi Carlile at the Grammy Museum to discuss the making of our new album Vera…and whatever else pops up.

Track 9: Somewhere Between
This is hard to write-it will never not be painful. Years ago my brother & I lost a very dear friend. We were in Oslo Norway
& the news came through that he had died by suicide. This is a postcard to our beloved friend who you might know as Sugartooth.
We had a conversation about mental health, music & more with our friend @kellymccartneyx on Record Bin Radio airing live today on @applemusic Country at 11am CT! Make sure to check it out: https://t.co/pWkpFRLvz7
Track 8: The Poor Side of People
The guitar that’s being played on this recording is called Sonny. It was gifted to Brandi by her great uncle Sonny after he passed away.
I think he would love knowing his old guitar is still alive and giving back.
Track 7: A Little Respect
Erasure has always been one of my favorite bands-and even though they are giants I still think they are underrated & don’t get all the credit they deserve for their contribution to the musical world. Thank you, Vince & Andy for all the beautiful music.
Track 6: Under The Weather
This song was born through the experience of living through the relentless ups and downs of mental health’s path. A reminder that solid ground is underneath you even when obscured by the fog of whatever you are going through right now.
Track 5: Counting The Days
This is a piece of the truth about life on the road. Sometimes, the downside is a little louder - and it tracks you down. It’s mostly beautiful all the time and I wouldn’t trade this life and its gifts for anything in the world.
Track 4: Remember Me
This song is a love letter to our kids. We love hearing that this song means so much to so many people - is there someone you are remembering?
Track 2: Broken Homes
This song is our truth - it is the story of growing stronger through the gift of adversity. We’re standing tall on our own, because we come from a broken home.
Track 1: If Everyone Had Someone
There’s a lot to be grateful for in the world, a lot of love. The bad stuff is loud, it’s noisy - important to acknowledge, but we can’t forget all that we have to be grateful for in life and celebrate that. Let love be loud for a song.
Thanks to @johnmayer for featuring “Counting The Days” in his @siriusxm show @lifewithjm New Music Friday-Tuesday! You did pronounce “Hanseroth” right, but “The Hanza-Ruth Twins” does have a nice ring to it 🤔
The release of Vera has been so special, and it’s all thanks to you! It’s been so great connecting with all of you and hearing what Vera has meant to you. Thank you for listening, for the love, and for bringing Vera to #1 on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts (#humblebrag) ❤️
We brought the Twindom to the kingdom! Thanks scallywags for being with us for our first Hanseroth Twins set. Promise it won’t be our last - please give us an excuse to come back over and play for you. The full hearts were worth the sore throats ❤️🤘
