@MariaG_Zaccaro @FarehamWoodward A somewhat reductive vision of a library from the councillor in charge of Hampshire's libraries. Libraries are so much more than book-lending machines. And lending figures are an unfair proxy - given that previous cuts have had an impact. If you starve an organism, it shrinks.

Certainly true of library cuts. The proposed budget cut by @hantsconnect seems to all but target the county's more deprived areas - exactly where libraries can be most transformative. If they are properly funded.
