@ukhrultimes I don't understand who handles @urkhultimes ? There's not one tangkhul who comments on ur post but all I see is that meitei n kuki end up into disagreement. Tangkhul macha are not interested so pliz don't post to polarise .
@newmai8510@SharmaWakhan@ukhrultimes Listen, u have no idea who is asking for ST. Brahmin and RK don't represent meitei. It's not up to you to decide but constitution of india to grant or not. I don't understand why u think ST is ur ancestral property .
This one video that has been repeatedly used to demonise the Meiteis surfaced in July 2023, just a day before the start of Parliament's monsoon session. The incident in the video had taken place on 4 May 2023. The opposition lambasted the BJP alleging that the Saffron party had indulged the Meiteis who, allegedly thus emboldened, have carried out persecution of the minorities in the state. It didn't stop there but used the video to tarnish the whole nation branding it as a land of rapists. The western media literally pounced on the country and Hinduism and the Hindus.

However, the opposition has never demonstrated such strong vehemence and outrage against more heinous crimes perpetrated on the Meiteis. For instance, when in November 2024 six IDPs were abducted and then brutally slaughtered by the Kukis (after the female captives including the 8 year old girl were reportedly gangraped), the opposition didn't find a reason to create a ruckus. Their silence underlain by selective outrage in this regard has been far more deafening than PM Modi's silence on the Manipur crisis.
Adding two plus two, in all likelihood, it was a premeditated leak of the video tape in question. One political party, that played a huge role in aggravating the crisis, had a hand in having the tape released on Twitter after more than two months since the occurrence of the said incident.
