Our clients loved trying ALEYE last week! This tech translates gestures and facial expressions into haptic feedback, helping people who are blind, low vision, and neurodiverse connect and better understand social cues.
Thank you @Hap_ware for the hands-on trial! 👏

This haptic wristband can decode facial expressions for visually impaired people 👀
"At CES, accessibility tech start-up HapWare unveiled Aleye, a haptic wristband to help people with visual impairments or neurodivergence understand nonverbal cues. It pairs with Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses and utilizes computer vision to detect the facial expressions of others during conversations."
"The wristband can be customized via an accompanying app to vibrate in a specific way to correspond to certain gestures/expressions.
Aleye is now available for pre-order at $359."
THIS $359 wristband helps visually impaired people understand faces better
Hapware has introduced Aleye, a haptic wristband designed to assist people with visual impairments or neurodivergence in understanding nonverbal cues. The device pairs with Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses and uses computer vision to detect facial expressions, providing users with customizable detection options. Aleye is available for pre-order at $359, plus a one-year app subscription for $278 (then $29/month), but it doesn't include the glasses.
Congratulations to HapWare (Techstars 2025) on winning the Consumer Technology Association Foundation Health Innovation Challenge at CES! 🎊
The challenge recognizes technology that helps solve real-world barriers for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At CES, HapWare showcased their ALEYE wearable that detects nonverbal and social cues such as emotions, facial expressions, gestures, and body language, and translates them into haptic feedback (e.g. sense of touch) on the wrist in under a quarter of a second.
Founded by Jack Walters, Bryan Duarte, and Gabriella Pangelinan, HapWare's mission is to empower the disability community with confident communication and independence.
And shoutout to Lotus (Techstars 2023) for getting runner-up! Founded by Dhaval Patel, Lotus is a wearable ring that controls objects at home by pointing.
This is how @Hap_ware works:
Detect:
Smart glasses recognize nonverbal cues like a smile or an outstretched hand.
Decode:
Each expression is mapped to a unique haptic pattern.
Deliver:
That signal reaches the ALEYE wristband in under 250 milliseconds.
Giving you nonverbal cues you can feel.
On Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we celebrate the power of inclusive innovation.

Over 70% of communication is nonverbal. For many autistic people, missing those cues is a real challenge; our users rated the severity 8/10.
HapWare is building tech to help close that gap. Everyone deserves to feel understood. #Autism#Inclusion#HapWare#AssistiveTech
A new study shows autistic and neurotypical kids engage in conversation because of hand cues, not eye gaze.
At HapWare, we build assistive tech that meets people where they are—customizable for real-world connection.

Ever missed a handshake?
For Katie Corbett, who is blind, that used to be a regular part of life…until she tried ALeye!
“It let me know when someone was going to fist bump or shake my hand.”
