According to our new study, the negative impacts of climate change on wellbeing are expected to fall disproportionately on low- and middle-income countries. In some countries, wellbeing levels are expected to drop by up to 18 percent in 2030.
#humanity is faced with a plethora of serious public health challenges: global organ shortage & a lack of access to nutritious foods in developing countries. Encouragingly, technological advances can address some of these difficult issues and improve and save lives globally.
These figures do not imply that cancer is worse for the individual’s #happiness than autoimmune illnesses. In fact, it’s not. Instead, it highlights that autoimmune disease is a more prevalent health problem, and hence has a higher overall potential impact on humanity if cured.
As such, the WALY metric enables #investors to make decisions not only based on financial returns but also on the potential to improve people's lives.
