Lindsey Graham came from humble beginnings and became one of the most powerful lawmakers in the most powerful nation on Earth. His story was a fundamentally American one.

Early in my Senate tenure, I remember getting into a shouting match with Lindsey about a Ukraine funding bill at lunch and then learning the very next day that he was pushing rail legislation I really cared about behind the scenes. That was Lindsey Graham. He fought like hell for the things he believed in, and he was just as willing to go to bat for you when it counted.

Lindsey had the best sense of humor in the Senate. He loved the game of politics. He was constantly asking which races were up and down, and how he could help. As he liked to say, “I don't care if you're an isolationist or a religious fanatic, so long as you have an R next to your name, I want you to win.”

We certainly had our disagreements. But I couldn't help but like him. A one of a kind figure in our politics. I'll be praying for him and his family.

I actually believe this, that he wishes he hadn’t done it.

I think that all media (legacy, alternative, etc.) have worked overtime to dehumanize conservatives and incentivize direct violence against us. They’re aware that they’re doing this, they like that they’re doing it, they like the results of their doing it, and they like that they can hide behind the plausible deniability of “well it’s not like I explicitly spelled it out or anything!”

So, I’m sure he wishes he hadn’t done it, because he’s ruined his life and will be executed. Hopefully he feels remorse for his actions independently of their consequences for him and repents. Though he can’t seem to stop laughing in court, so I won’t hold my breath.

But ultimately it was just a fantasy. Charlie Kirk was not an evil man working to usher in an evil Hollywood regime. You are not a hero. You are a disturbed person who responded as intended to the rhetorical lockpicking of the media, and now you will be killed as a matter of clerical procedure, and it is good that it will happen.

I hope that every other would-be or will-be assassin sees this and is dissuaded, but ultimately there won’t be real change until the media is held accountable for their role in this.

That being said, I don’t mean to hold our leaders to a frustrated, unrealistic standard of “just arrest every journalist and streamer, bro.” (Please?) But certainly there are ways to respond to what we all, and most especially the pundits themselves, know is occurring. I don’t accept that we can only sit on our hands.

Never forget that “Juneteenth” started in 2020 because race communists weaponized an obscure holiday to cancel Trump’s Tulsa rally and call us racist for not knowing what it was (nobody did).

Anyone remember that? They said Trump was invoking the Tulsa Race Riots by holding a rally on the same day of an unrelated Texas holiday.

It was one of their many ploys to “borrow” the 2020 Election.

Then, everyone during 2021 Peak Woke just forced a federal holiday into existence. All but 8 Republicans voted for it, even.

We don’t remember how bad things used to be. Peak Woke now feels like a fever dream, but this was real, and we shouldn’t forget it. It will return quickly if the right doesn’t value victory.

People don’t remember what a normal President was before Trump.

That includes Trump 1. Despite all this revisionist history that Trump “betrayed us,” we shouldn’t forget that his first term was basically just a tax cut and a constant war against Russiagate.

Trump 2 has, by far, wielded the most executive power of any President since WW2. He’s basically doing everything within the confines of the law to push deportations and crush his political opponents. He’s fulfilled far more of his campaign promises than the average President too, contrary to this app’s claims.

It’s not his fault that our system is a corrupt leviathan that is difficult to change. You should’ve known that going in. If you’re just now learning about woke judges, terrorist Democrats, or corrupt Republicans, you haven’t been around enough to comment on anything.

I remember during Trump 1, we viewed him as our crusader who was fighting that system — even though he did very little in reality. Being the symbol of resistance was enough for us. Being hated by the Deep State was enough.

Now that he’s genuinely pushing hard against the institutions — and even dismantling some of them — these same people mock him if he loses. It’s ridiculous.

You can fantasize about Trump suspending the Republic and becoming Caesar, but that was never a realistic outcome.

Fixing the country is not accomplished in one election. It takes years, generations to keep marching, stacking wins, and making progress — which Trump has done an absurd amount of in a short time.

For me, Trump is a hero. He is the trailblazer who paved the way and showed patriots that it’s possible. But he was never a messiah. I’ve always understood that there would be more work to do, long after he was gone.

We should ride the momentum and opportunity we’ve been given. Lead by Trump and Charlie’s example. But sadly, we won’t. Because social media has fried our brains and attention span too much to actually do the hard work of sustaining a political movement.

We don’t deserve to win if we’re going to act like this.
