El Niño suppressing Atlantic storms this week is climate variability. It's been doing that since before humans existed...nobody disputes this. What CO2 does is warm the oceans so that when storms DO form, they intensify faster. Milton went from tropical depression to Cat 5 in 48 hours last year. Helene jumped from Cat 1 to Cat 4 in a single day. Saying 'no storms this week disproves climate change' is like saying 'it's cold today so winter lasts forever.
