I'm finally “free” from cages. Even though I'm gone, my friends are still here -- still hoping McDonald’s will improve conditions for millions of laying hens in Asia by committing to go #cagefree. Please speak up for laying hens at https://t.co/qPv68mePvw #happythehen
#McDonalds has already committed to phasing out cage eggs in São Paulo, Seattle and Sydney, but not in Singapore or Seoul. How long will we have to wait?

I’ve heard that many people have been locked down in Asia for some time. Yet there are people in cities across Asia demanding @mcdonalds free us from cages. At a time of such human hardship, people still care about our suffering. Our time is coming… #GoCageFreeMcDonalds
One day, I got my neck stuck in between the bars of my cage. I am too weak to free myself. Any movement will hurt me even more, so I lie still and wait. I know I will die soon, I have seen other hens die the same way. https://t.co/qPv68mvSxw #CageFree#HappyTheHen#McDonalds
When one of the hens die, we stand on top of her to avoid standing on the wires. It made me very frightened in the beginning, but I am used to it now. I feel bad for standing on my cagemate’s body, but also grateful for something soft to stand on for a little while. #happythehen
There are people trying to remind @McDonalds about me. They are telling my story outside McDonald’s restaurants. Telling people about my suffering, what it's like to be in a cage. They give me hope that things will change. Thank you for remembering me.

I hope @mcdonalds knows I’m here. I’ve already laid hundreds of eggs sent to their restaurants. Yet I’ve never felt an ounce of love from McDonald’s. Only the cold, unyielding wires of the cage which entraps me.

It’s strange, feeling lonely while surrounded by others. We’re used to living in groups. But not like this. Not when we are packed so close together and can't spread our wings or change positions without difficulty. Please ask @mcdonalds to go #cagefree https://t.co/qPv68mePvw
Hens on cage farms never get to experience foraging, dust bathing and other essential behaviors.
♻️ Retweet to tell @McDonalds to #LetHensDoHenThings by phasing out cage eggs from its Asian supply chain.

I am not sure what happened to me, just that I have no appetite and my legs feel lame. I found my cagemates are not feeling well either. But no one comes to take care of us, they just care if they could collect eggs from us. https://t.co/qPv68mePvw
Hey @McDonalds, do you want to play truth or dare with me?
Truth: Why do you insist on exploiting laying hens like me?
Dare: Go #cagefree in Asia like what your competitors committed to.
[continued] ... Sometimes other hens get their feet stuck in the wires, and they starve to death because they cannot move or reach their food. This makes me very afraid and I try not to get my feet stuck :( https://t.co/qPv68mePvw
I have never touched the soil or solid ground. I stand on a wire cage floor that hurt my feet. I cannot walk more than 2-3 steps as the cage is cramped and crowded... [continued]
To reach my food, I have to push my head and neck through the wire mesh. This causes the feathers to be rubbed off my neck and chest. My tail feathers also get worn off. I am in constant pain and discomfort. Ask @mcdonalds in Asia to end #TheCageAge

I have never seen the sun, but I lay eggs anyway because there is a light bulb and food in here that makes my body produce eggs. When my eggs come out, I want to sit on them but I can't. They roll into a gutter and I never see them again. Please tell McDonald's to go #cagefree :(
There is no soil or sawdust to roll around in, so mites and fleas grow on my feathers. Over time, the feathers fall off my body. There is no space for me to move around. Now I know why some of the other hens cry in pain. Very soon, I will be one of them. #HappyTheHen#GoCageFree
I can feel so much love from all our kind-hearted human friends who have kept up their efforts in urging @McDonalds to commit to using #cagefree eggs in Asia. May their efforts and my suffering not be in vain.

I live in a cage with many other hens. There are other hens in cages stacked above and below us. All day I hear their clucks and cries of pain and discomfort. Let me out :( https://t.co/qPv68mvSxw #happythehen#cagefree#bekind
Some days I bump my wounded beak against my food trough and it hurts very much, but there is nothing around me that can provide comfort from the pain. I am counting on kind-hearted human friends like you to help us, please visit https://t.co/qPv68mvSxw #happythehen#CageFree
