@rddy97 Are you referring to the Viking era, or Alexander’s? Regardless, the Roman era is better documented than either of the other two.
Alexander’s WAS well documented, but all the original sources have been lost or reduced to fragments.

If you look at the most recent shows, we have the two Viking shows then right into Alexander.The issue here is the lack of sources (eyewitness accounts especially, etc) in these earlier eras makes the narrative challenge much tougher. I think I’m ready for more recent stuff!😂

@JTMoney407 Yeah…and I bought like fifty books for it too. But all the Crusades have a very difficult rhythm to work with (they usually fizzle out for example). I’ve tried several different approaches to try to make it work right…

@HardcoreHistory The Merovingian dynasty leading into Charlemagne and the Carolingian dynasty would be incredible. Gregory of Tours has one of the best sources to come out of the Dark Ages. The 570-613 civil war has an ensemble of characters that would make Hollywood blush

Well,thanks. It’s a totally unbalanced story-lots of context then almost uninterrupted warfare.I’m hoping when the series is taken in total it’ll seem more balanced(other stories have similar issues…any of the Crusades for example. It forces me to be inventive in the narrative!)
