Oil has been sustained above 100 $/bbl several times over the last decade.

Directionally, less risk and uncertainty around the straight would help lower prices today; no argument. But saying refining capacity or other factors have nothing to do with prices is an exaggeration.

Historically about 80 to 90% of gas⛽️ prices can be attributed to WTI crude price, but as with most everything there is drift due to inflation - e.g gas prices today are about 20% higher than a few decades ago at the same 100 per barrel price point.
