"When in two minds, use both."
Sometimes you’re in a FIX.
Not because you’re confused.
But because both options are valid.
First principles says Option A works.
Intuition says Option B works too.
X factor is the context you’re ignoring.
We’re trained to choose. Pick a side. Be decisive.
But in engineering, business, and life — the best answer is often “and” not “or.”
How this plays out?
Engineering:
- FEA says weld it.
- Field experience says bolt it for maintenance.
- Use both: Weld the structure. Bolt the replaceable bundle.
- You get strength and serviceability.
Leadership:
- Empathy says slow down, listen.
- Accountability says move fast, deliver.
- Use both: Patient on people. Fast on problems.
- You get trust and results.
Business:
- Aggressive pricing wins the order.
- Premium pricing protects margin.
- Use both: Tiered offering.
- You get market share and profitability.
Humanity:
- Religion draws lines. Caste builds walls.
- Patriotism demands loyalty.
- Use both: Accept the forces exist. Then out-human them.
- You get clarity and courage.
The Rule:
- Two valid paths aren’t a problem. They’re an invitation to design a third.
- Choosing one means you leave value on the table.
- Integrating both means you change the game.
Bottom line:
If you’re in two minds, don’t pick. Build.
Don’t deny the tension. Use it.
In the end, it’s all about humanity. I’ll stand by that — against all odds.
What “FIX” are you avoiding by refusing to use both?

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) should be based on ground realities — not online intelligence.
Algorithms tell you what is trending.
They don’t tell you why something broke.
We may spend weeks mining dashboards, scraping social data, and building AI-powered reports — only to miss the one truth that a 10-minute walk on the shop floor, or an honest conversation with a frontline worker, would have revealed instantly.
Online intelligence is fast. It is wide. But it sits on the surface.
Ground reality is slow. It is specific. And it cuts to the bone.
Real RCA demands:
✦ Physical presence, not just digital observation
✦ Conversations with people closest to the problem
✦ The courage to hear uncomfortable truths that no dataset will volunteer
✦ Context that only lived experience provides
Data is a compass. But the terrain is walked, not scrolled.
The next time you’re doing an RCA — ask yourself: am I looking at the map, or am I actually on the ground?

Gratitude and Ambition Are Not Mutually Exclusive — They’re Strategic Partners.
In business, we often celebrate a milestone on Friday and immediately ask “What’s next?” on Monday.
If we don’t pause, we risk taking wins, people, and progress for granted. If we pause too long, we risk stagnation.
The most effective leaders I’ve worked with practice grateful ambition:
- Ambition without gratitude → High performance, low fulfillment. Teams burn out.
- Gratitude without ambition → Strong culture, limited growth.
- Grateful ambition → Sustainable performance. You acknowledge results, recognize contributors, then align on the next objective with clarity and energy.
A simple operating rhythm:
1. Close the loop: When a goal is met, document the win and the “why it mattered.”
2. Recognize contribution: Name the people and behaviors that made it possible.
3. Set the next target: Define what success looks like for the next horizon.
You don’t have to choose between driving results and appreciating progress. The best outcomes come when you deliberately do both.
For leaders: Where does your team tend to lean — “never enough” or “too comfortable”? How are you balancing the two this quarter?

Start Sensitive, End Sensible — Not the Other Way Around
That sequence is everything. Reverse it and you break trust and outcomes.
Why the order matters?
Start Sensitive → End Sensible
Collect real data first. Feelings, fears, unspoken stakes. That’s the soil. Skip it and your “sensible” solution solves the wrong problem.
Earn the right to be logical. People accept hard math after they feel heard. Lead with math and they’ll fight you even when you’re right.
Avoid brittle systems. Products designed on specs alone miss the human. TEMA’s screw-plug exchangers exist because field pain came first: leaks, downtime, operator frustration. Then came the patent.
Start Sensible → End Sensitive
You look like a robot who backpedals. “ROI says cut 20%… but we care.” Nobody buys it.
You miss key intel. Sensitive data never surfaces if you open with a spreadsheet. People armor up. You optimize the wrong thing. Perfect efficiency for a mission nobody believes in. That’s how teams ship features users hate.
PVP application:
The first draft is all sensitivity, call it abstract.
Then experiments, prototypes, mock ups.
Then analysis, FEA and CFD.
Finally, ASME presentation and Patent application.
File the last draft. But we never get there if draft one was “sensible.” A sensible first draft is dead on arrival.
Rule to post on your wall:
If you start sensible, you’ll never get the sensitive data.
If you start sensitive, you’ll earn the right to be sensible.

High-Performance Computing is running hotter than ever.
Tubular Exchanger Manufacturer, TEMA INDIA decided to step into the kitchen.
As AI, Data Centers, and Blockchain scale at relentless speed, thermal management has become one of the defining engineering challenges of modern infrastructure. Power densities are rising fast. Conventional cooling systems are reaching their limits.
That’s where we come in.
We are pleased to announce that Harsh Jhaveri will be leading TEMA’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) Division.
Under Harsh’s leadership, TEMA is developing advanced heat rejection and thermal management systems engineered for the next generation of compute infrastructure built not merely to withstand extreme operating conditions, but to perform at them.
For decades, TEMA has solved some of the world’s most demanding heat transfer challenges across critical industries. HPC is simply the next frontier.
The future of compute will belong to those who can manage heat as intelligently as they manage data.
And we intend to be part of that future.

Starting point of a business may be the order. The lasting point is the performance.
Everyone pops champagne on the PO. Wrong victory lap. The order starts the clock. Performance decides if you deserve to stay in the game.
But performance isn’t just “did we execute the order well.”
It’s three layers deep:
1. Execution Performance — How well did you deliver?
On time. On spec. On budget. No excuses.
If you fail here, there is no layer 2.
2. Lifecycle Performance — How well does it run?
MTBF, not just delivery date.
Easy maintenance, not “call service.”
Energy use, not just nameplate rating.
Rule: Your equipment gets graded every hour it runs. For 20 years.
3. Ownership Performance — Do you still care after warranty?
This is the moat.
Anyone can ship. Few answer the phone in year 8.
Fewer still call the client in year 12 to ask, “How’s she running? Anything we’d design differently now?”
Tema/Heat exchanger truth: You don’t sell a screw-plug. You sell 8-hour bundle swaps during a $2M/day shutdown.
The field data 5 years later is what proves you’re an owner, not a vendor. That’s when the next PO writes itself.
Rule to post on your wall:
Orders are rented. Performance is owned.
And ownership doesn’t expire with the warranty.
We own the equipment we sell. That mindset takes us a long way.

Become a visionary. Trust your subconscious.
We are living in a time where conflicts have evolved — from holy wars to trade wars. The battleground has changed, but the outcome often remains the same: power and wealth concentrate in the hands of a few.
In such a world, what is truly in our control?
Our health.
Our humanity.
Our awareness.
It is our responsibility to stay physically strong, mentally clear, and emotionally grounded. Not as a reaction to the world, but as a conscious choice.
We are not just thinking beings.
We are the owners of both the conscious and the subconscious mind.
The conscious mind decides.
The subconscious creates.
And the visionary learns to align both.
AI is here — powerful, fast, and efficient.
But it is not here to replace us. It is here to amplify us.
Let AI do what it can do.
And let us do what only we can do:
* feel deeply
* create authentically
* connect humanly
* lead consciously
The future will not belong to those who compete with machines.
It will belong to those who transcend them.
Be healthy.
Be human.
Be aware.
And most importantly —
be the master of your inner world.

Different Opinions Build Strong Teams — Shared Purpose Holds Them Together (Matbhed ho na ho, Niyat sahi honi hai).
Disagreement in a team isn’t dysfunction. It’s data.
The problem starts when we debate what is right or who is wrong, but never uncover why people hold that view. Without the why, we’re just tallying votes. With the why, we understand intent.
Healthy teams have diverse perspectives. High-performing teams have diverse perspectives anchored to a common purpose and belief.
- More opinions without shared purpose → Noise, politics, stalemates.
- Shared purpose without diverse views → Echo chamber, blind spots.
- Shared purpose + diverse views + the why → Better decisions, faster alignment, real ownership.
3 questions I use in team debates:
1. What outcome are you optimizing for?
2. Why do you believe this is the best path?
3. How does this serve our shared purpose?
If we can’t align on purpose and belief, we don’t have a team — we have a group of individuals negotiating. If we can align there, then disagreement becomes our competitive advantage.
In your last team debate, did you leave with clarity on the why, or just a decision on the what?

When Recognition Meets Responsibility: A Team Effort Behind a Defining Moment
There are moments in an organization’s journey that quietly redefine its purpose.
The inauguration of the distillation column manufacturing facility developed by M/s TEMA—and the dispatch of its first consignment—was one such moment for us.
While the recognition from the Department of Atomic Energy made it significant, what truly gives this milestone its meaning is the collective effort behind it.
No such achievement is ever individual.
It is built on the shoulders of engineers who refuse to compromise on precision, teams that work through constraints without losing focus, and colleagues who align themselves to a larger purpose beyond immediate tasks.
Dr. Mohanty’s presence and remarks during the occasion reinforced a belief I have always held—that nation-building in critical sectors like nuclear energy is not driven by isolated brilliance, but by disciplined teamwork and shared conviction.
At TEMA India, this journey has been about learning together, improving together, and delivering together.
From design to manufacturing, from quality control to execution—every stage demanded coordination, trust, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence.
This facility is not just infrastructure.
It is the outcome of a team that chose standards over shortcuts.
In sectors where reliability is non-negotiable, teamwork becomes the real differentiator. And when that teamwork aligns with national priorities, it creates impact far beyond the organization.
Sharing a moment from that day—one that represents not just recognition, but the strength of a committed team.
The milestone is behind us.
The responsibility, as always, is shared.

Stop Defending the Design, Start Inviting the "Devil’s Advocate"
In high-stakes engineering, the difference between a "good" project and a "flawless" one is often the quality of the friction it faced during the design phase.
My team often talks about the Devil’s Advocate as a Consultant. But lately, we’ve shifted that perspective: the Devil’s Advocate isn't just a person; it’s the message we send to each other to keep our standards high. It’s about finding the balance between being sensitive and being safeguarded.
The Engineering Balance:
• Sensitivity is what allows us to be intuitive, to catch the subtle nuances in a client’s brief, and to empathize with a teammate’s challenge.
• A "Thick-Skinned" Safeguard is the intellectual firewall that allows us to hear "this won't work" without hearing "you aren't good enough."
Reframing the Friction:
When we treat criticism as a "Devil’s Advocate" message, we change the room's energy:
1. It’s Not a Race: We aren't trying to finish first; we’re trying to build what lasts.
2. Data Over Drama: We strip away the "wrapping paper" (the bluntness or the pressure) to find the technical truth underneath.
3. Stress-Testing is Support: Asking the "uncomfortable" question isn't a lack of trust—it’s the highest form of professional respect.
By performing as sensitively as we are safeguarded, we don’t just survive technical reviews; we gain from them. We turn a potentially draining "critique" into a strategic advantage that makes the final product—and the team—stronger.
How does your team handle the "Devil's Advocate" during a deep dive?

"Conflict is the father of creativity.”
Without tension, the mind slackens... but when harnessed, it widens your horizon
Finding that balance is like walking a tightrope – tension's a double-edged sword, keeps us sharp but can chop our view.
If you serve the purpose of resolving the conflict, you achieve what you have to.
What's the purpose you're aiming for?
