The performative bullshit is absolutely infuriating. These Western war tourists flock to western Ukraine, cosplay as people living under fire, pose for selfies, and then sell the whole performance to an audience apparently incapable of distinguishing a fucking photo op from an actual war zone.

Here is a reality check: when rockets are heading for your apartment, you do not have time to find your best angle, switch on portrait mode, and document your bravery for social media. You are too busy trying to survive.

But apparently, for some Western audiences, war is just another Instagram aesthetic - as long as the danger looks convincing, the lighting is good, and nobody has to experience the reality they are pretending to understand.

The fact that people fall for this theatrical garbage says everything about how easily suffering can be turned into content and how cheaply performative outrage can be sold.
