Studios bought two YouTubers’ movies and everyone showed up… maybe theatres aren’t dead, rather the industry finally adapted… either way, movies are 🅱️ack
@Disney The state of moviegoing is already a financial nightmare.
The one thing we, as consumers, have going for us is IMAX is undoubtedly the best way to watch a movie on earth, and worth the ticket price.
Do not let corporations dilute the one pure thing we have left.
@Disney It’s really important for moviegoers to understand what this really is. Disney will “certify” already existing screens, not build new ones to rival IMAX.
This certification is an imaginative fabrication to be able to sell tickets at the premium IMAX price. Really shallow.

Christopher Nolan says he worked hard on the Blu-ray and 4K Release of Oppenheimer

@netflix This is the final nail in the coffin of cinema. Capitalism fuels our anti-social, anti-community lifestyles, and this is the perfect example of the rich telling us what we want, we no longer get to choose for ourselves.
James Cameron says Netflix films shouldn’t qualify for the Oscars.
"We will put the movie out for a week ... we will qualify for the Academy Awards ... I think that's fundamentally rotten at its core. The Oscars mean nothing to me if they don't mean theatrical"
"Netflix should be allowed to compete if they put the movie out for a meaningful release in 2,000 theaters for a month"
