The Noble Son
Born so high, in disregard
fifth upon the line
the easy way is locked and barred
so, looking for a sign
I take the oath of highest weight
that, should the day be mine
I will rise beyond my fate
and serve the great design.

Damnation
In silence for a moment’s breath
before the gates of wrath
I gaze upon the fate of men
who, in hateful pride or sloth
gave away both heart and soul
most precious of their birth
that all the wonders of a life
are of no lasting worth.
#Poetry
Transhuman
The trappings of hope, raised to madness
for blessings of change without end
that, shaping the mind and the body
perished the soul will descend.
#Poetry
A Step too Far
A fire wakes upon the deep
in fathom’s grasp where it must sleep
amid the storm of dark design
of stymied schemes and one crossed line,
one crossed line among a host
to win the prize and lose the most.
#Poetry
Gilded Slaughter
Gold leaf on cold iron
to soften the face
of the killer in sable
and the long cut of grace.
Gold leaf on the steel
for the meek still at home
that the blood in the gutters
is praised in the tome.
#Poetry
Now I stand last of all as the fresh bugles call
and our children go riding to war
as I pick up my lance and I make for the dance
I can feel my friends with me once more.
3/3
Cavalier
A star flashes by through the midnight sky
and I whisper a prayer to the breeze
for the men at my back to return from the black
and put my sore heart to its ease.
#Poetry 1/3
For they stood at my side to the end of the ride
through the blood and the fire and steel
where we fought with the best and we died like the rest
as we brought the old monster to heel.
2/3
No Deed Unpunished
You think of the price,
but what of the cost?
For the glittering gain
of an innocence lost
shall damn you as deep,
although only you know,
as the blood on the streets
that will drag you below.
#Poetry
The High Crusade
Deep in the gulf of forever
through windows like glittering stars
I watch for long hours, approaching
the battle of whispering scars
#Poetry 1/2
Turncoat
The cut will scar but never mend
as love turns hate now, without end
and longing for your works to fail
I will let my morals bend
for there is no small betrayal.
#Poetry
A Moment’s Dawn
Light spills down the mountain
shattering darkness again
for a breath there is day
from the long winter’s grasp
but the sun is falling
too soon.
