I think it's very important that we remember that it wasn’t the CEOs and billionaires who saved us during COVID-19. It was the janitors, nurses, cleaning crews, grocery and food workers with their hard, often invisible labor.
Drive faster! Drink easier! Gamble gamble gamble!’
No housing. No healthcare. Ford thinks giving us cheap thrills is only way to stay in power. This weekend join a #FightFord protest near you and let’s force this failed Premier and national embarrassment to resign. #Onpoli 🇨🇦
Teachers deserve real new funding for their classrooms. Instead, Paul Calandra is taking $300 from existing school board budgets, putting it on a card, and pretending it’s something new.
New: the Ford government is defending its decision to award the contract for its $750 classroom supplies portal to a single vendor, arguing that consolidating purchases will drive down prices through bulk buying.
Teachers said a single supplier could limit choice & make it harder to obtain specialized materials. https://t.co/lsbLCwumRh
NEW: OPSEU says Ford Fest pics shared by two PC MPPs also edited out union flags, in addition to changing the colour of protesters’ tshirts.
“Pretty desperate look to erase the flags,”
The union says.
The government says it was simply correcting an ‘orange hue’

Shameful disrespect shown to @OPSEU workers by @fordnation at this presser. Accusations that these workers were swearing at families, yet no mention of the Ford volunteers who were doing that to @ThisIsWillAdams. This is where his supporters get their attention, by imitating him.
NEW: Doug Ford's daily calendar will be kept secret due to controversial changes to FOI law.
So Ontario taxpayers will have no idea where he is, what he is doing, and who he is meeting with during his 146-day break from Queen's Park.

Over 200,000 Albertans came out and signed a petition saying no coal mining on the Eastern Slopes. Now the Premier says it's too late to put the petition question to a referendum.
For months, the Premier changed the rules for the separatists. Their signatures weren't even validated. The court said their petition was unconstitutional. But the Premier gave her separatist friends their referendum anyway.
But when it comes to coal mining on the Eastern Slopes, suddenly there's all these rules. Suddenly it's too late.
This is hypocrisy.
Alberta's New Democrats have always been clear: no coal mining on the Eastern Slopes.
Doug Ford’s daily calendar is now beyond the reach of Ontario’s FOI law.
The question isn’t what is being hidden.
The question is why Ontarians should have less access to government information than they did before.
Welcome to Monday.
It concerns me that so many OPP Officers were snatched from their critical, regular duties to protect Doug Ford.
The OPP has a VIP protection unit. But that's where it should stop. If more security is required call in TPS.
I'm very uncomfortable with regular OPP officers being used en masse at the premier's disposal.
The OPP is not his personal police force.
As a DC9 union painter with 30+ years in coatings, I’m looking at the failure not a conspiracy theory.
When a coating is lifting off in large sheets like this, that points to an adhesion failure: improper surface preparation, contamination left behind, the wrong coating system, poor recoat timing, or water introduced before the system fully cured.
A quality two-part epoxy system can perform well but the product is only as good as the prep and application. The substrate has to be properly profiled/cleaned, the specified primer or first coat applied correctly, recoat windows followed, and the full system allowed to cure before being put back into service.
That is not “vandals.” That is a coating failure that deserves a real independent inspection and an explanation of exactly what system was specified and how it was applied.

For months, the Premier changed the rules for the separatists. Their signatures were not even checked. The court ruled their petition was unconstitutional, but the Premier still gave her separatist allies a referendum.
But when it comes to coal mining on the Eastern Slopes, there are suddenly new rules. Now, it’s considered too late.
This is hypocritical.
Indigenous rights expert, lawyer, revered international Cree leader Chief Dr. Wilton Littlechild speaks about Treaties in Maskwacis earlier today,
“The (Alberta) separatist movement is very fond of using that phrase ‘well you Indians, you gave up everything, you surrendered everything. Well that’s not true.” The treaties were witnessed by God, they are sacred, he says.
I've written to Premier Ford's constituency office requesting a public apology for the harassment experienced at Ford Fest. I've also written to the City of Toronto and will be calling Toronto Police to ask them to investigate this as a hate-motivated incident under Criminal Code Section 319.
