FLOOR DECOR KENYA – 30 DAY PRECAST CONSTRUCTION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Duration: 30 Days
Stipend: KSh 10,000
Location: Factory & Active Construction Sites
WEEK 1: PRECAST MANUFACTURING THEORY & FACTORY PRACTICALS
Morning Session (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
* Introduction to precast construction technology
* Workplace safety and PPE requirements
* Understanding concrete materials:
* Cement
* Aggregates
* Water
* Admixtures
* Concrete mix designs and ratios
* Quality control principles
* Prestressing fundamentals
Practical Session (11:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Trainees will learn and participate in:
* Manufacturing prestressed T-beams
* Manufacturing precast wall panels
* Manufacturing precast blocks
* Machine operation
* Concrete mixing procedures
* Concrete vibration techniques and their effect on strength and finish
* Casting procedures
* Demoulding techniques
* Quality inspection
* Material handling
* Stacking and curing procedures
* Transfer of products to drying yards
* Loading and transportation procedures

WEEK 2: FOUNDATION & STRUCTURAL ASSEMBLY
Site-Based Training
Trainees will participate in:
* Site setting out and measurements
* Raised composite foundation construction
* H-block pier installation
* Composite floor assembly
* Precast wall assembly
* Door and window positioning
* Structural alignment and leveling
* Connection details between components
* Upper floor slab assembly
* Installation of prestressed T-beams and slab panels
By the end of Week 2, trainees will have participated in assembling a complete precast shell structure.

* Cabinet installation

* Final snagging and inspections

EXTENSION OPTION
Upon completion of the 30-day internship, participants are free to leave the program.
Those wishing to gain additional experience may apply for a 2-month extension attachment to further develop their skills and participate in additional projects.
