@DGlaucomflecken I feel so lucky that our neuro patients can easily tap into charity funding for some bespoke wheelchairs. It's never a problem here in the world of MND!
On national TV, the Prime Minister claimed to have 'resolved' the nursing pay dispute.
This is untrue.
We remain in a formal trade dispute and the government is late with its award for this year.

When your Christmas cards come addressed to:
Mrs ‘husband’s full name’
PhD - 30 years. Professor - 10 years. Didn’t change surname on marriage. Have my own initial.
Just me? 🙄
#Everydaysexism
It's the little interactions like this - the microagressions which are so easily brushed under the carpet. Safe to say he won't be darkening my (or my completely fictional husband's) door again.
I've been aware of quite a lot of #everydaysexism recently. Maybe because I read @laurabates book #fixthesystemnotthewomen a few months back. (Highly recommend!)
I had a cold caller this afternoon who, after mansplaining life insurance to me, mistook my disinterest as ignorance. He ended the call by advising he would call back when my 'husband' was around so he could talk to him instead.
It would be good to hear if anybody had a structured progression to a Nurse Cons role. It seems that for a lot of people it was luck or befriending the right person etc. etc.
I went to a really interesting #ClinicalNurseSpecialist away day this week. Good discussion on the barriers to career progression in the specialist world. Such clear pathways in nursing management to the top, but if the Nurse Consultant post if the aim it feels near impossible.
@xolisajane At @GSTTnhs we have made use of some amazing things such as inkless handprinting and ribbons/small pouches for locks of hair. Memory making and keepsakes are so important!
I've had quite a while off twitter but it's good to be back! After a year in Palliative Care @GSTTnhs, I started in a new job 3 weeks ago with @uclh in #MND. Great conference this week in #Edinburgh to kick start my learning. V. exciting to hear the research being done @mndsmart
I had my first PDR this week and officially finish my preceptorship at the end of the month. After a completely crazed year it's been really good to sit down and consider how I can actively change and add to my responsibilities. I'm definitely feeling ready for something new.
