We are devastated to announce the death of Ground Safety Officer Mark Farnworth on Monday 5th January.
Every member of the PNE staff was distraught when they were informed yesterday afternoon of Mark’s passing. Their reaction was a real testimony to the way in which he was respected both inside the club and in the wider community.
Mark joined PNE as Ground Safety Officer in February 2013 after 24 years of distinguished service with the Lancashire Police force.
Everyone connected with Preston North End Football Club will miss him dearly as a colleague and as one of the most respected Ground Safety Officers in English football.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Deborah, his children Hannah, Victoria, Laura, Grace and Tom, all of his grandchildren and of course his friends.
Mark was an outstanding family man and was initially taken ill on a family holiday last July and we, along with his family must thank and pay tribute to all in the National Health Service for their professionalism and care over the last few months.

🤍💙 A powerful reminder of the positive impact football can have off the pitch, and the importance of supporting those most in need at this time of year.
A wonderful way to spread some festive cheer. 🙌

I am delighted to support the #EFLWeekofAction, which celebrates the huge contribution and impact of @EFL Football Clubs, including the efforts of Preston North End and Preston North End Community and Education Trust @pnecet. Proud to see the positive impact they are making in my #Preston constituency.
PNE will be running free CPR-Defib training for PNEFC fans pre-match this week. Following the second cardiac arrest in 18 months at Deepdale, the goal is to reach supporters with life-saving first aid and CPR training, empowering them with the skills and confidence to act in emergencies both within football settings and in the wider community.
The training session will take place in The Gentry Bar on Wednesday 5th November from 5pm to 6.30pm, ahead of the club’s home fixture against Swansea City. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance https://t.co/Qr80o7iplZ.

✨ Celebrating Diwali at Deepdale!
We were proud to open our doors to more than 120 guests from the local Hindu and Sikh community this evening to mark the Festival of Lights.
Families enjoyed a fun game show, a stadium tour, and a Q&A with @pnefcacademy scholars Li-Bau Stowell and Shay Reid, who also helped judge the game show and posed for photos. 🙌
A brilliant evening filled with smiles, laughter, learning and togetherness. 🤍💙

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jordan Thomas.
Jordan joined the Trust in 2022 through the Government-funded Kickstart programme, where he worked with us for six months. During his time here, he made a positive contribution and will be fondly remembered.
Our thoughts and condolences are with Jordan’s family and friends at this difficult time.
🤍 For those who would like to support, a fundraiser has been set up in his memory:
