Why would anyone expect a government that won't help refugees fleeing from a crisis it helped to create in Syria to help refugees fleeing from a crisis it helped to create in Afghanistan?
@SkyNews@KayBurley
You do *not* address a member of the House of Lords as "My Lord". That's how you address a judge in court. A member of the House of Lords is addressed as Lord ___________, in this case Lord Heseltine.

@SkyNews Kay should stop addressing members of the House of Lords as "My Lord". My Lord is how you address a judge in court. Life peers are addressed as "Lord X" (in this case "Lord Heseltine"). It's not only wrong, it sounds obsequious.
@SimonCalder While any FR pilot can fly any plane, they do have a max number of hours/month. Is FR simply kicking the can down the road because the pilots flying today won't be available to fly later in the month having used up their hours? A bit like the holidays debacle.
Is it just me, or does @nxcare not understand what an active opt-in is? Having to tick a box in order to opt out of marketing communications is exactly what the GDPR was designed to prevent. The opt-out should be the default.
@HarryJA Hi Harry.
Apologies for the delayed response.
We have received confirmation from our Data Protection officer stating we are not in breach of GDPR due to the fact that there is no pre-ticked box and there is deliberate action required by the customer to opt out.
Regards NX
@nxcare This was the ICO's finding: I am of the view that National Express has not complied with their data protection obligations. This is because: National Express are passively requesting individuals to opt out of marketing rather than asking them to positively opt in.
@nationalexpress Check your website. Under GDPR it is now illegal to make people check a box to opt out of receiving marketing materials. Why are you still doing this as part of your booking process?
@nxcare That is incorrect, and I know that the ICO has written to you about this. Requiring people to tick a box in order to opt out is the same as having a pre-ticked box. The default must be no opt-in. I have written to the ICO to tell them you have not acted on their previous letter.
