@BallinFFB@vercetione Greatest at what? Greatest economy? I'll give you that. Greatest army? I'll give you that too? But greatest quality of life? About 25th, ish. Greatest levels of freedoms? Again, about 25th, ish. Life expectancy? About 40th best. So what do you mean by "greatest in the world?"
@McgovarinJamie@patsharp There is no "official" start date for a season. There's different definitions. The most common and accepted definition is that the summer solstice (the longest day) on June 21st signals the start of Summer. Some say 1st of June. In Ireland it's 1st of May!
@DBS2325@JoshFerme Half of the people in Belfast trace their roots to Scotland and settled in what's now Northern Ireland a few hundred years ago. Those people certainly aren't ethnically and culturally identical to those from Dublin. They literally came from a different culture and religion
@justdavenow89 You're confused because you're missing the point. We don't only want British people living here. We're perfectly happy with economically productive people coming here. What we don't like are people who sponge off the British people and don't integrate. Brits abroad don't sponge.
@JarvisAeneas I'm a right winger who doesn't believe or think it's real, but knows it's real. Being right wing doesn't mean you have to automatically subscribe to every right wing belief. Just like being left wing means you can disagree with some of the rhetoric the left peddle
@SimonHarrisMBD Yawn. You'll be the kind of person who says a proud Brit who enjoys a curry and drives a German car is a hypocrite no doubt? The finished product in your example is a very British staple, regardless of where the ingredients come from. Pro British doesn't mean anti global trade.
@right_far_right Any small town in North Yorkshire or Northumberland basically. Go to Wooler and you'll find people doing a second look if they see a minority
@matthewdmarsden It's the humidity. Opening the windows doesn't make a jot of difference on those hot sticky nights. Sometimes it's warmer outside than inside, which just draws warm air in. Don't think I've ever opened a window and suddenly felt cooler. Our buildings are designed to stay warm.
