Here is the trouble. We have been hoping for two years while you have been hoping at us. Hope is what you sell when you have nothing to point at.

We do not need hope. We need a government that uses the powers it has, for the people who pay you to use them. The powers you keep telling us you do not have.

You have the power to stop the boats. You blame the French. You have the power to deport. You blame the courts. You have the power to build. You blame the clock. You have the power, and you keep the excuses.

Nobody voted for hope. We voted for a government. You have handed us a slogan and a shrug.

Without hope there is nothing to build on. Then build something, and we will stop needing the hope.
