Bangladesh protests began against a court decision to reinstate a 30% reservation in government jobs for descendants of 1971 independence war veterans. This protest was overtaken by radicals and Islamists who spewed hate and targeted minorities also under the garb of democracy thwarted. WTH the protestors targeted demolished the historic residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman- the man who fought to free Bangladesh- father of the nation!. The Awami League has faced crackdowns, bans, and restricted political space.
Anyone who sees that as an inspiration to follow needs to be called out and silence is not an option.
