A bigger problem is the fact that most Indians don’t even see any problem in this

I recall Indian friends visiting Europe complaining how everything feels “dead” in European cities because there is so little noise pollution

In my view, most Indians have become so addicted to chaos and extreme noise pollution that they cannot imagine living in a peaceful setting

And mind it, this is not just about vehicular noise pollution

There are so many weird and random noises throughout the day and night in Indian cities

Completely unregulated construction

Open air manufacturing

Loud DJ

Adhan

Temple loudspeakers

Diesel generators

It is absolutely crazy

I am more surprised that apartment and homes in India lack noise cancelling windows

But even most homes are so noisy

Indians listen to TV and radio in full volume

All this explains why average IQ of Indians is so low

There are hardly any spaces in India where you can peacefully sit and introspect

You will have to travel to Himalayas or away from urban centres

India is the noisiest country in the world … and it keeps getting worse

Overcrowding and hypercompetition for every small thing in India is exhausting.

For once I would like to know what it feels like to apply for a job that doesn't have 2 lakh applicants for 50 vacancies.

For once I would like to visit a quiet Park which has not been turned into a giant mela with thousands of people.

For once I would like to live on a street which doesnt have traffic jams and constant honking from morning 7 AM to 11 PM in the night.

For once I want to visit a hill station which doesn't feel more crowded than Delhi or Bangalore.

Just for once, I'd like to just get something without a full-blown battle.

Even in this so called developed area of Hyderabad you will barely find any pedestrian infrastructure. Drone shots hide the terrible walking infrastructure.

Japan is 13x richer per person.

Their 'stagnation' >>> our 'growth'

Tokyo's metro network: 3000+ km
Delhi metro: 350 km

Average Japanese salary: Rs 35L/year
Average Indian salary: Rs 3.5L/year

Japan infrastructure, healthcare, education, safety - all top tier globally.

We're comparing our potential to their reality. Not the same thing.

They'll be willing to sit in Alto 800s because they're savvy businessmen adapting to demand from emerging markets, not because they're desperate.

Meanwhile our dhandho 'entrepreneurs' need govt bailouts and protectionism to survive.
