India has so far won four big matches in the Asian Volleyball Cup in Ahmedabad, winning 12 sets, and dropping just one, to the Kazakh team.
Coincidentally, one was also the total number of articles in the English press in Ahmedabad about the AVC, that too after India's fourth straight win. After @sagofficialpage, FIVB, the IOA and the Steering Committee did such a sterling job putting this tournament together.
The stadium which allowed free seating was packed all four nights for all the India matches with thousands coming in to book their places hours before.
And after the game, they stayed en masse just to cheer the players and take selfies and autographs.
And one tiny report after day 4, for a team that has jumped into the world top 50 and just beat the defending champions in straight sets!
India's volleyball renaissance under coach Dragan, and the spirit and resilience of this team against all odds is a story that needs your support!
These were our growing up years.
Hindu, muslim, christian, families together, convent schools and bollywood music. Celebrating India and indianness.
Then came the Sanghis with hate and destroyed the country.
I read this somewhere, "China is run by engineers, America by lawyers, and India by politicians." And not just politicians, but career politicians, whose only expertise lies in power broking.
Are we ever going to learn? (Fin)

Lately every time I watch the Indian cricket team take the field I can't help but wonder how cool it would have been to have @canva as the lead sponsor on the jersey.
For context, Canva put in the second-highest bid for lead sponsorship after Dream11... (1/n)

It’s often said of the Indian public that we have a terribly short memory. The gravest of injustices will eventually fade from collective outrage because there’s just so much happening in this country, every person fighting a fight every day, to bother about lofty ideals such as.
fraternity and brotherhood and what it means to be a good citizen. Politicians across party lines have exploited this weakness of the Indian citizenry, but none more so than the administration today, which finds it well to peddle disinformation to deem a world-renowned educator..
...and have the Pakistani cricketers soak up the embarrassment for no fault of theirs but their govt. Have the world know that India won’t be bothered about losing a few points to a team and a country we’ve left miles behind on every index that matters.

Have the team walk out for the national anthems wearing black armbands, and then, before the match can start, forfeit it, but let the visuals play out on TV screens. Let the broadcasters explain what just happened,... (1/2)

If as superpower of cricket, India is so scared, and BJP members have to indulge in the worst kind of intellectual dishonesty and do verbal gymnastics to justify playing a terrorist state, then it tells you a lot about why India is not a Great Power.
