The poor woman didn't know that this strange sound was the sound of her husband and 4 other people vaporizing in fractions of a second:

Wendy was aboard the support ship for the Titan submarine expedition, and her husband Stockton was piloting it, with 4 other people on board.

During her monitoring of the expedition, she heard a sudden booming sound and asked those present: What is this sound?

She didn't know that the sound she heard was the result of the catastrophic collapse of the submarine under water pressure, which claimed the lives of her husband and the other four in moments.

What happened is called implosion, an internal collapse due to the immense water pressure that crushed the submarine.

Most tragically, she continued monitoring the expedition, believing her husband was still alive.

For after hearing the booming sound, a message arrived from the submarine indicating that it had jettisoned two weights, leading the crew to believe it was still operational. But the message had been sent before the submarine's collapse and arrived late.

From the looks on the faces of the two men behind her, it seemed they knew what had happened but chose to remain silent.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife gave birth to their fourth child in 1997. Just 5 DAYS later, the housekeeper who worked inside their home gave birth to his FIFTH child.

For 14 years, Arnold kept the truth from his wife. He secretly helped support the other boy while raising 4 children with Maria Shriver. Their 25-year marriage collapsed when she finally confronted him.

In 1996, Arnold had an affair with the family's longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena, while Maria and their children were away on vacation.

In September 1997, Maria gave birth to their son Christopher. On October 2, Mildred gave birth to Joseph.

For years, both women continued living their lives, and Mildred continued working for the Schwarzenegger family.

Arnold later said he didn't realize Joseph was his son until the boy turned 7 or 8. As Joseph grew older, he started looking more and more like him.

Instead of telling Maria, Arnold began secretly sending Mildred money to help raise the boy. He also paid for Joseph's schooling.

Maria eventually noticed the resemblance too. According to Mildred, people around the house had begun talking about how much Joseph looked like Arnold.

When Maria finally confronted the housekeeper, Mildred broke down.

MILDRED BAENA: "She cried with me and told me to get off my knees."

"We held each other."

In January 2011, shortly after Arnold finished his second term as California governor, Maria confronted him during a marriage counseling session.

The counselor asked whether Arnold was Joseph's father.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER: "I thought my heart stopped, and then I told the truth."

He admitted everything.

In a later interview with 60 Minutes, journalist Lesley Stahl asked Arnold whether he had lied to his wife.

"You can say that," he replied.

Arnold admitted that his actions had caused tremendous pain to Maria and their children.

In July 2011, Maria filed for divorce after 25 years of marriage.

It took another 10 years for the divorce to be finalized.

In his 2023 Netflix documentary, Arnold returned to the moment that destroyed his marriage.

He said Maria had been devastated, but insisted Joseph was innocent and deserved his father's love.

The 2 boys had been born just 5 days apart.

One grew up as Arnold Schwarzenegger's son.

The other grew up without his father's identity being publicly acknowledged.

And when the truth finally came out, a 25-year marriage ended.
