@timecaptales A bronze, life-size statue of Jimmy Carter was unveiled at the Georgia State Capitol in 1994. It was sculpted by Frederick Hart, who also created The Three Soldiers statue at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Frederick Hart also supported civic groups, environmental orgs and other causes. He donated sculpture to benefit the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS and Operation Smile. He married Lindy Lain, and had two sons. On August 13, 1999, he died of cancer at age 55.

In 1995 Hart created and donated a memorial portrait of African-American educator Ruby Middleton Forsythe to honor the local hero who devoted her life to teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in a small town in South Carolina.
