THE WAY MISTICO ATTENDED BTS CONCERT WITH HIS DAUGHTER AND THE WAY HE APOLOGIZED TO THEM BC HE WANTED TO MAKE 7 JACKETS BUT THEY SAY THEY FEEL HONORED AND ONE IS ENOUGH OMG😭🫶
During their comeback show for Attacca in 2021, at the height of Seungkwan’s variety guestings, Seungkwan teased Vernon that he didn’t even know Seungkwan’s schedule or any show he was on.
Vernon had remained quiet and didn’t rise to the bait. But later that day, he uploaded photos of him watching Seungkwan’s shows.
Every single one of them.
He had always, ALWAYS known.
Why do I keep talking about this? Why does no one in that fandom read more than 1 Korean word? 😭
This is the last time I swear... but the sheer lack of basic knowledge about the Korean military evaluation system is truly exhausting and guess what I can't shut up 😭
Let’s break down actual facts and chronological reality for anyone struggling:
1. The 19yo Baseline: Every Korean male undergoes their FIRST official military physical exam (병역판정검사) at age 19 to get categorized (Grades 1–7). Mingyu was born in '97, meaning his official 19yo evaluation year was 2016,the exact year his back injury was first publicly documented. His medical record literally started right at the baseline.
2. Re-Examinations (재검사) & Final Orders: If a condition worsens over time (like his chronic lumbar issue requiring him to halt group schedules in 2023), you must submit comprehensive hospital records, MRI scans, and treatment histories.
Official military medical boards evaluate these verified clinical records right before issuing final enlistment/alternative service assignments.
3. Strict Standards: Grade 4 (public service) standards in Korea are notoriously strict. You don’t just 'schedule' a chronic spinal issue or vibe your way into alternative service; it requires years of verified government medical data.
Taking painkillers and performing for his job with medical clearance doesn’t mean his spine magically healed or that he meets active-duty physical criteria.
Do you guys quit your jobs and forfeit your livelihood every time you’re in pain? No? Then stop using performance fancams to debate official military medical records. It’s embarrassing.

Serve well, SEVENTEEN! 🫡
for carats who don’t know why mingyu is serving in alternative service, it’s because he first publicly suffered a back injury in 2016. at the time, it was just minor pain, but in 2023, he suffered from severe and chronic lower back pain, including an incident in late 2023 that required him to temporarily halt his activities with the group. he may look healthy because of how active he was, but pain is still pain, and he had to serve through alternative service because of it.
For those wondering why dokyeom didn’t apply for the military band..
The last chance for those born in 1997 to apply for the military band was in 2025. For the 2026 recruitment, only those born between Jan 1, 1998 ~ Dec 31, 2008 were eligible to apply
