Yesterday, on my way home, I witnessed a deeply concerning incident:young Somali youth barely in their 20s,heavily intoxicated, sprawling dangerously onto the highway, almost causing accidents. They even caused a traffic incident as vehicles stopped allowing them clear the way.
It breaks my heart knowing that some of these kids might be from families in Northern Kenya who sacrifice everything to afford their education.
It is high time to address these destructive habits.
SubxanAllah.
๐ Referee announced for 2026 #SuperCup!
We're pleased to share that Somali referee Omar Artan will officiate the highly anticipated match between PSG and Aston Villa in Salzburg.
Abdikadir Mohamed SC: If we can make impeachment easier, that is what we need; let us not make impeachment more difficult. If we hook impeachment to a court process that is going to take forever, to a court process that will be three-tier in terms of appeals, we will kill impeachment #JKLive
Countries with retrogressive visa policies should not be allowed to host global tournaments.
The Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan was reportedly denied entry into the US despite having a valid visa, meaning he will miss his World Cup debut as the first Somali official at the tournament. That alone tells you how broken this hosting model is.
You cannot invite the world to your country, collect tournament glory, collect tourism money, collect broadcast attention, then humiliate qualified officials and participants at the border.
Even the extortionist visa system at the US Embassy in Nairobi should be condemned. Kenyans pay money, fill forms, queue, wait for months, then someone rejects them in two minutes and keeps the money.
If your visa policy treats Africans like suspects and ATMs, you have no business hosting the world.
The political elites in Somalia are a disgrace.Shame on you!
People who cannot agree on governance and nation building and choose to be puppets and warlords for foreign countries at the detriment of their own people.
I bleed for Omar Artan and every somali whose dreams are shuttered thanks to the despondency you politicians created in the world stage.
@citizentvkenya The bench finds in their pronouncement that Riggy Gโs rights were infringed then goes ahead and upholds the impeachment.I understand there are loads of technicalities in law but this particular dictum does not make sense.

The pain of seeing patients stranded, families frustrated and hopeless in the corridors of public hospitals is unbearable.
Imagine rushing your only child to hospital and only be left in the corridors unattended to cos you cant afford SHA or pay Cash Deposit.
The system is ruthless
@Dr_Chris_Twine Interns literally run the hospitals. They are the first contact doctors. The workload is crazy.
Standing in Solidarity with you from Kenya.
As a Senior Consultant, the reason I haven't raised my voice is simple:
When the interns are gone, I will gladly show up at 5AM, clerk 80 patients, draw the blood, and run the night calls myself.
I am superhuman. Obviously.
As a Senior Nursing Officer, the reason I am silent is obvious:
I have no problem running three wards alone, fixing lines, tracking vitals, delivering babies, doing the paperwork.
I don't need hands. I have dedication.
As a Policymaker, the reason I haven't spoken is elegant:
The interns are a budget problem I solved by terming the students.
My children are not doing internship in Uganda, after all.
As a Patient, the reason I haven't complained is clear:
Even if the doctor cutting me open has worked 36 hours without food, just cut me open and take the baby out.
Hunger sharpens the hands. Everyone knows this.
As a Citizen, the reason I am unbothered is rational:
None of my children is a medic.
I have my pastor.
The system runs on miracles. Always has.
This policy is brilliant.
Let's all stay quiet and watch the magic happen.
@drabdulhameed07 This should be jigger infection.
It is caused by female sand flea Tunga penetrans .
Soaking the affected area with potassium permanganate and then suffocating the organism by applying petroleum jelly will be of help before manually removing the organism๐ฌ
Dr James Nyikal is the reason why you need professionals with ethos and values in Parliament. He has always been my model professional legislator. He has told the House that a health pandemic like Ebola is as a matter of science, dealt with on site and not abroad.
These are the health systems challenges we need to discuss if we want to be pandemic ready.DEVOLUTION of healthcare is more than just buildings and ambulances bought at over priced costs.
