The first patient in a focused ultrasound clinical trial for a rare form of pediatric brain cancer has been treated. Researchers at @ChildrensNatl have treated a 5-year-old girl with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) – a disease with a five-year survival rate of only 2%.
