Government block claim is misleading.
Technical checks show:
> Domain is on clientHold status
> Public DNS resolvers like Google (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) now return NXDOMAIN
> Website earlier resolved and returned HTTP 403 from active Hostinger infrastructure
This usually indicates registrar/hosting-side restriction, suspension, or intentional access denial not a typical ISP/government block.
If the government had blocked it directly, public DNS would usually still resolve the domain while access would fail at the ISP/network level through DNS poisoning, connection resets, or filtering.
The owner most likely did it himself.
๐จ ๐จ Abhijeet mentioned that this account was recently created.
Now lets validate.
1: April graph is flat so all followers are recently added.
2: The screenshot says 140% growth since april 21.
3. This means in april this account had more than 8.5 mn followers.
How is this possible if the account was recently created after CJI comment?
Did they use some other account which already had many followers ? @KirenRijiju please investigate this.
@abhijeet_dipke Please let the supporters know how was the account recovered and what exactly happened. CJP stands for transparency. We donot want to be tactically manipulated by another party for their narratives as we are showing our honest support.
@HelleLyngSvends Most people are stuck earning the daily bread. Govt data itself says it feeds 60% Indians via its Ration Program.
And most those who are fortunate/rich enough, well why would they do anything to change the status quo? Like the article you have pinned said, the price is high.
I am thankful that my journalism have contributed, but I think the names Indians should look to for inspiration and critical journalism in India is in this article. I will be following their bylines at least.
@CivitasSameer In short: The Indian government (via MeitY) did pressure platforms to restrict the accounts. The domain was suspended at the registrar level (Hostinger), which is how such things often work private companies comply with legal demands to avoid bigger trouble in India.
