Day 2 at #naplic23
What a great day hearing from inspirational speakers.
Lots of learning and it's so good to see other SALTs in person. Thank you to the ever so lovely @AMcGoldrickSLT for keeping me company and the giggles

Yesterday we held our @CygnetOT Personality Disorder, Eating Disorder and CAMHS service line meeting. We had a study day on meeting the needs of individuals with ASD within our services. Great presentations from psychology, OT and SLT
My write up implementing LINK-S training with teachers within a CAMHS inpatient hospital. Pages 66/67 This was just the start, I have now rolled this out to another hospital and one more in the pipeline #SLT#CAMHS#SLCN#Dld

Are you a Speech and Langauhe Therapist #SLT who has worked with 1 or more adults with a history of #braininjury, but NOT as part of a brain injury specialist service? If so I'd love to interview you for my dissertation. Please DM/comment below and I'll send you more info.
It's #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek As an SLT it's important we raise awareness that children within services such as #CAMHS are 5 times more likely to have #SLCN
Children with #mentalhealth needs are 5 times more likely to have #SLCN than their peers
Everyone who works with these young people needs to understand this and know how they can support them

I support schools, and hearing about all the children waiting for 3+years for SLT support/therapy/assessment is absolutely heartbreaking. That’s not a just a poor service - that’s a pandemic in itself. Rights are not being met. We’ll see implications of this for years #SLCN#SLT
