Brooks was a truly fantastic Met and as reliable as they come. After years of bouncing around, he really seemed to find a home in Flushing. His four seasons with the Mets marked his longest tenure with any major league team.
He understood what was coming, but he was clearly emotional knowing his time here was ending. I’d love to see the Mets pursue him again in free agency this offseason.
