Following a national recruitment campaign, I am delighted to announce that we have successfully appointed Mark Hatton to the role of Headteacher @DerbyPrideAcad 🥳 💫

Mark has substantial senior leadership experience at assistant & vice principal level, with a background in strategic oversight of behaviour and culture in challenging city secondary schools. Mark also brings with him transferable leadership qualities from the non-education/business industry. Marks particular areas of expertise include behaviour, culture, curriculum and commissioning places within AP. We look forward to welcoming Mark to Esteem Multi Academy Trust! 🙌🏽 😁

@Strickomaster It’s an idea and will work for some. It’s the same as competition. Competition and sport would motivate me to come to school but for others it would cause stress, anger and anxiety. When will they get one size does not fit all. It’s about knowing your students!

🔺Number of teachers leaving 1 year after qualifying in 2021 increased to 12.8% (up from 12.5% in 2020)
🔺Classroom teacher vacancies 2120 (up from 1368 in 21/22)
🔺Teacher sickness absences above pre-pandemic levels 67.5% in 21/22 (54.1% 18/19)

@teacherhead So much of this is spot on. CPD should be a positive learning experience. However getting the culture right is so important. Sadly a small minority will always have the attitude what could they possible teach me. Adopting the culture that we can all be even better works for me 😃
