Farmers are reporting that data centres are destroying their bees. I don't think people understand how important this is. Bees pollinate about one in every three bites of food we eat. They're far more important to humanity than any Al tool or data centre.
I would just like to point out a couple things first,
1. 70% of all wildlife has been killed off in my lifetime (52).
2. The 6th largest mass extinction of animals since Earth began is happening right now.
why does no one care about the fact that we're projected to run out of clean drinking water by 2039 because of how much water ai data centers use please stop using chatgpt y'all, i beg. you do not need a shitty looking cartoon of yourself, i promise. the planet is dying.
Dragonfly nymphs live underwater for months or years before they ever fly. They cling to the underside of submerged rocks eating mosquito larvae. Move the rock out of the water and the nymph clinging to it suffocates. Protect the dragonflies, leave the creek rocks alone.
& unfortunately not everything is recoverable. some environmental impacts will be permanent. any endangered species we lose? permanent. cutting down the ancient trees? permanent. the chemical pollution? permanent. the climate impacts? permanent. clean water loss? you guessed it
Fact is, to keep horrible plagues from tanking us we will need foxes, coyotes, wolves, bobcats and mountain lions about keeping the system running as it should.
