Me: "You are the greatest wife."
Her: I know.
Me: "You are the best thing ever happened to me."
Her: I know.
Me: If you know, why do I keep telling you?
Her: Because I need to hear this everyday.

People often want to know whether their desires or characteristics are "normal" so they will feel better about being a certain way. But that's silly; you don't have to be "normal" to accept who you are. Paradoxically, being "weird" or different in some way is a normal phenomenon!
That “feeling” you just can’t shake about someone is likely your automatic brain clocking some familiarity in the person you like. You’ll get that feeling even if on paper, they seem to be completely wrong for you.
Our automatic brain likes familiarity. We like some differences, novelty can be exciting, but if a person is too peculiar to us, we tend to move away from them.
What’s important to understand here is that we don’t choose to be with someone whom we perceive as too different from us and those who we've grown up around.
There's a huge difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something.
We talk in fact-deficient, obfuscating generalities to cover up our lack of understanding.
Be careful not to hold the stage for too long. If you’re having a serious conversation with your partner, be as brief as you can and make sure they also have plenty of opportunities to talk.
I hope you experience a love that inspires dancing instead of walking on eggshells. I hope you are able to breathe deeply in their presence instead of holding your breath.
