Take a look inside the official programme from the 32 date UK & European tour of 1975, which the band embarked on in support of the newly released Who By Numbers album
Released on this day ten years ago, Bobby Weir’s ‘Blue Mountain’ was inspired in part by the traditional cowboy songs he heard as a teenager working on a ranch in Wyoming. The music and stories stayed with him for decades before finding their way onto the album.
To celebrate its anniversary, the album returns with a new vinyl reissue on https://t.co/d1pYWIt3eG. Pre-order begins today at https://t.co/d1pYWIt3eG and will be available on October 16, Bobby’s birthday.
In addition, a deluxe digital edition including unreleased recordings from the ‘Blue Mountain’ studio sessions and live performances from Bobby’s fall 2016 Campfire Tour will be available on November 20.
For a first listen, “Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again,” recorded live on the Campfire Tour, is out now.

On this day in 1975, Jefferson Starship and “Jerry Garcia and Friends” took over Golden Gate Park for a free concert which drew in around 50,000 attendees. This would turn out to be the Grateful Dead’s last of only four performances in 1975. During their set they made sure to include some new tracks from their latest release ‘Blues For Allah,’ and some old favorites, leaving the crowd ready for more, that unfortunately wouldn’t come until June the following year.

55 of years of ‘Skull and Roses’ 💀🌹
Recorded during the Dead’s Fillmore East, Hammerstein Ballroom, and Winterland Ballroom stops in early 1971, this album was originally titled ‘Skull Fuck,” which the band’s label ultimately rejected. So, it was renamed, ‘Grateful Dead’, more commonly referred to as ‘Skull and Roses’ and features Stanley Mouse’s ‘Bertha’ artwork from their Avalon Ballroom run in September 1966. From “Wharf Rat,” to “Playing In The Band,” and “The Other One,” which track are you revisiting today?
