Sunderland Women can confirm that long-serving midfielder Libbi McInnes will depart the Club this summer.
After 13 years with the Black Cats, McInnes made 74 senior appearances, scoring three goals following her debut in 2020 at the age of 15.
Known affectionately within the Club as ‘Peggy’, the 21-year-old joined Sunderland Women at the age of eight and progressed through the Regional Talent Club (RTC) pathway.
An important member of the squad, McInnes was named Young Player of the Year in 2025 and also received the Goal of the Season award for her strike against Durham, alongside the Supporters’ Young Player of the Year accolade.
Everyone at Sunderland AFC would like to thank Libbi for her contribution to the Club and wish her every success in the next stage of her career.
Hannah Greenwood has announced she is leaving the club.
Personally, I would loved to have seen Hannah and Chloe Paxton start together next season. Hannah was a rock at the back at times for us.

Louise Griffiths has announced she is leaving the club via Instagram.
Louise has been an absolute stalwart for us during the the most difficult times.
A lovely girl and a very capable left back who loved getting stuck in.
