Our woodland and permaculture project in the English Lake District. Exploring sustainable food production ideas within our little food forest.

Good morning! 🌳🌳

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

Ever feel like you're being watched?

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

This morning's work

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

Watching the bats and birds as it goes dark. Very relaxing!

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

I love this view into the mountains of the Lake District. Can you see the F-15 that happened to be flying past?

What a lovely day 🌳😁

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

Look at all the spiders' webs on the grass! #woodland #LakeDistrict #spiders

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

@liziwake Yes that's the plan. He's taking the lead on planning what we do, so some of it will be mature when he's in his 30s and 40s

Autumn colours just beginning

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

A misty morning in the woodland today #woodland #LakeDistrict #misty #fog

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

@liziwake Exactly, I think my son might get the benefit of it more than me!

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

@liziwake Still feeling a bit empty without the larch! But hopefully get some more trees planted this winter 🌳🌳

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

Chickpea and lentil daal for tea today #camping #woodland #LakeDistrict #ozpig

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

Squash and tomatoes seem to be happily growing together, although I'm pretty sure I didn't plant tomatoes there! #permaculture #growyourown

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

Keeping him busy with the track trimming #mowing

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

@bob_rett I know what you mean, they don't like to stay put!

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

Woodland bramble berries #permaculture #woodland #foraging

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

@AndyGuy1963 Absolutely, nice coffee from the wood stove this morning 😁

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

It's been a while since we've had a proper camp tea in the woods

[Hawhill Woods @HawhillWoods]

@bob_rett Haha they never grow where you want them to! We're going to leave our bramble patches and plant other things around them. They're one of the few food producing things we have at the moment!
