I have a Marine Corps tattoo and a matching tattoo with my wife. I told both of my boys to only get a tattoo if it means something to you. So many people have random, stupid garbage tattooed all over their body.

The tattoo thing is completely out of control. A majority of women between the ages of 18 and 49 now have tattoos. I have tattoos and I'm here to tell you it isn't worth it. I don't hate my tattoos or necessarily regret them. I feel fine about them. But feeling fine about your tattoos 18 years later is basically the best case scenario. That's the tattoo ceiling. At best it will be something you don't necessarily hate in a couple of decades. The floor is much, much lower. There is basically no scenario where you'll wake up every day for the next six decades thanking God that you have your tattoos. You'll either be totally humiliated by them down the line (which a lot of people are), or at best you'll be kind of ambivalent. Not a wise investment. Upside isn't nearly high enough to justify a permanent decision.
