@JordanSchu76936@agtradertalk And whether Trump’s response was genuine or not, he seemed serious when he asked the farmer if year round E15 is actually important to farmers.
@ckleene@hawkbranchfarm Dying early from southern rust is the reason it didn’t fill… What reasonable explanation can be given to say the yield is above last year using these ear counts combined with the finishing weather/disease affecting ear weights and a ton of fringe acres? Other than USDA says so..
@Frye_WSS@cfarms76 So USDA says same amount of ears out there as 2020-2022. Horrible finish weather wise, worst disease in decades. No technological advances since 2020-2022. Someone going to have to explain why ear weight is going to be heavier than those. Those were 172-177 yields.
@GoddessofGrain So ears per acre are down YOY, but the yield is higher because of record ear weights with the stellar weather finish and lack of disease?
@HarvestTrader@cyrano54@GrainsGorilla Been perfect weather last 2 years to be short. Have to be factoring in a lot bigger number than 181 with those crop conditions like StoneX yield model shows using those conditions.
@aghedger Check out 2021-2024 Iowa G/E ratings and then guess the yield each year. Definitely don’t take a high or low rating as the gospel when guessing yield.
@aghedger The ratings aren’t reflecting what 2-3x normal rainfall does to good, tiled ground in the I states. No air left in the soil.
These hybrids weren’t bred for 3x average rainfall for 60 days, they were bred for drought after 2012. Our yield has been going backwards last 2-3 weeks.
