MAGE colt out of French Politics, entered in the @FasigTiptonCo July sale. He's a beautiful example for the stallion whose first crop are yearlings this year. 🎇

Because I like this sort of thing I’ve done a male line family tree of the fourteen Derby runners, tracing them back to their most recent common ancestor, which, not surprisingly is Phalaris, foaled in 1913. The “real” Daddy of them all. @EpsomRacecourse@ACooperClerk
2-year-olds coming out of the sales and their connections have the patience of a 3-year-old toddler. These babies just went through 4-6 months of intense preparation for the sale, get shipped straight to the racetrack, and are expected to be superstars immediately.
We do it every year, then turn around and wonder why "the breed isn't as durable."
Maybe it's not always the breed.

31 different stallions have sired the last 35 winners of the G1 @BelmontStakes 👀
The only repeat sire since 1991 is @Gainesway's Tapit... who won with Tonalist (2014), Creator (2016), Tapwrit (2017), and Essential Quality (2021).
With 4 Belmont winners, Tapit is tied with Lexington as the all-time leading sire in Belmont Stakes history.

One of my pet peeves about social media discourse is how people will make a claim, and then when that claim is refuted, move the goal posts to a related but different claim and act as though you’re disagreeing with that and not what they actually said
A career-ending injury prevented A La Lucie from ever reaching the racetrack, but the $1.1 million yearling is making her mark as a broodmare through Belmont Stakes contender Chief Wallabee. @BreedersCup

Give it 15 more years and we'll start hearing 5-weeks is "too quick back"
135-year long trend of horses being given more time in-between starts isn't going to change.
And if you read old racing literature, the trend of writers saying horses don't need extra time is just as old.
Calumet homebred Original Sin, with @Tyler_Gaff up for @brenpwalsh, made a winning stakes debut yesterday in the G3 Blame at Churchill Downs, becoming the 119th SW for Curlin. Second dam Gaudete is a half-sister to Munnings.
@jdp1073 Old account was compromised, has now been deactivated, and @Support is beyond useless (I’ve sent 26 support tickets in the last two months) so I was forced to start from scratch
