As a writer, I think it is both a science and an art to be able to approach a period piece in a way that addresses very important human issues in a way that is both accurate and relevant to the period in which the piece is set as well as striking and impactful in the contemporary
And just how far we HAVEN'T come in others.
When we receive pieces like this, it is our responsibility to fight to keep them around until their stories have been fully told.
