Fetterman on Platner: I don't know why some Democrats can't call him out, but for me, I'm a Democrat that refuses to do that. I refuse to just say like we have plenty of great Democrats across our map and Maine.
Sen. John Fetterman is breaking with his Democrat colleagues again over Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner. Here's what Fetterman said. https://t.co/2ab7q1j9zc
When Fetterman ran for the Senate, it was a consensus among Republicans that his brain had melted and he was far too cognitively impaired to perform basic functions.
Then he became Israel's most stalwart defender and they acted as if his brain had magically regenerated.
Turns out he does indeed have a working brain guiding his statements. The brain just happens to reside in someone else's head:
Graham Platner: “We have watched the largest transfer of wealth from the working class to the ruling class in the history of this nation. In 1990, there were fewer than 80 billionaires in the US. Today there are over 900. When you look around, do you see a state of Maine that is 10x wealthier? Do we have 10x the schools? 10x the hospitals? No. In fact, we have less. Fewer schools, fewer hospitals. There is no coincidence that in the time that has happened we have seen the existence of people like Elon Musk occur”
SNAP participation is down nearly 9% since the signing of the One Big Beautiful Bill, leaving food banks scrambling to meet rising demand this summer. https://t.co/HwxPJp1qWO
REP. ANGIE CRAIG: I don't think you understand the difference between error rates and fraud rates. SNAP has one of the lowest fraud rates of any program
BROOKE ROLLINS: You can't be serious when you say that
ANGIE CRAIG: Your own data says that
Republicans didn't cut "government waste."
They cut your health care.
They cut your social security.
They cut your retirement.
They cut your SNAP.
AND they raised your taxes.
They're just hoping you don't notice.
Experts say about 70,000 more people will die of hunger due to this administration's cuts to SNAP.
70,000 preventable deaths—all in exchange for huge tax breaks for billionaires.
BROWN: The reality is 4.5 million people were kicked off SNAP to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy through HR1. Families and children are not leaving the SNAP program because they are doing better.
BROOKE ROLLINS (lying): They are
McGOVERN: Do you stand by your comment that kicking people off food assistance is somehow 'good news'?
BROOKE ROLLINS: Most of those were fraudulent
McGOVERN: I've talked to people who lost benefits. They were kicked off of SNAP. Hunger is getting worse in the United States.
I miss when we hired professionals in foreign policy. What have we got now? The best Trump can do is a sneaky, ambitious, collaborator who's mid as hell and only looks good by comparison to the drooling Neanderthals he's surrounded by.
