We just shared with our team the realities we need to navigate as we work to reset the XBOX business. We won't succeed by hiding hard truths, nor will we succeed by doing the same thing and expecting different results. See the note here: https://t.co/IahtBNzwnR
My predictions for Bungie/Destiny:
Destiny 3 will get greenlit… eventually. Easy win for Sony, but with stipulations. Many years away, but budget will have to be much more efficient.
Bungie overhead will need to drastically be cut. This could be total personnel, top level, perks, office/campus closure etc.
Destiny 1 remake is released, likely outsourced or small internal team. Solid way to get back to the roots of Destiny, the story, less clutter, and hit that nostalgia wave. Nice revenue bump too.
Marathon will continue on as it’s honestly good. It may not get Destiny numbers, but will remain consistent enough to maintain for a while, while the gaps get filled.
Now pie in the sky thought? Destiny 3 gets announced at the PS6 reveal. Nothing huge, just a small teaser and title screen ‘Destiny 3’ with no release window. Just hype to move consoles.
I say all this with the upmost respect to the Bungie team. I have many friends there. Many I have previously worked with in my career at various places. They are the best of the best. I don’t want anything bad to happen to anyone, and these are just my realistic thoughts based on my industry knowledge and the way the industry is shifting.
There is money on the table with more Destiny. How we get there will be what changes imo
Destiny 2 has more players today than
Renegades
Ash & Iron
Edge of Fate
Heresey
Revenant
Season of the Wish
Season of the Witch
Season of the Deep
Marathon...
Destiny 2 at 140K+ players on a weekday while most people are at work, on an update that isn't even an expansion, pacing to double Marathon's all time peak.
Sony failed with nearly every live service bet they have made.
You had a winner the whole time.
Wake up Sony.
🚨BREAKING: After Years, Destiny 2 enters back into the TOP 10 Games on Steam! Overtaking Edge of Fate & Renegades expansion peaks and almost doubling Marathon's Day 1 Peak!
The people of the Last City have constructed a monument to honor the protectors of Sol.
Visit the Tower to begin the Monument of Triumph update, available now for all Guardians.
Reminder for everyone logging on later today. There will almost certainly be queues.
We signed up for that. Be ready to get a little social. Be ready to chat. Be ready to chill.
Soak in the moment.
My heart has always been with the Titans. Being pillars of stalwart resolve against the darkness, they act as role models for those they support.
In honor of that mantra & the end of Destiny 2, I have made this new Titan to experience the journey one last time.

To our Lighkeeper community,
Over the years, you've helped turn compassion into action and shown what's possible when our community comes together for those in need.
Today, we wanted to take a moment to assure you of the future of the Bungie Foundation and properly thank you for the incredible support Guardians have given the Foundation since Destiny’s launch.
To start, we want to reaffirm that the Bungie Foundation will continue its work.
Our team remains committed to our mission to providing joy and relief to kids + communities who need it most. From Bungie's very first fundraising campaign in response to Hurricane Katrina during the days of Halo, through all of the incredible years in Destiny and now what comes next, our success and ability to change the world has been because of the compassion and generosity of YOU, our community.
Since our very first activation in D1 with the Pride of Nepal emblem 11 years ago, you helped us raise over $32 million dollars to support our Little Lights program, ID&E initiatives, and humanitarian causes.
Every one of you has made an impact through your support of the Foundation and that will never change. Destiny may have been the primary game we fundraised through, but you are the heart and soul of the Bungie Foundation. Above all, it was your passion for doing good that made it possible, and we can’t wait to see how you show up for our future campaigns.
We are eternally grateful for your awe-inspiring generosity, kindness and willingness to join us in trying to make the world a better place. THANK YOU.
We will continue showing up for the causes that need us, and though the way we fundraise may look different, we are just as determined to make a dent in this universe as we ever have been. As always, this will be a community-led effort, and we will continue to collaborate with Lightkeepers across the world to help us shape what this next chapter looks like.
We’ll have more details to share soon on what’s ahead. Until then, we’ll see you starside.
Love,
The Bungie Foundation Team
Tremendously sad that tomorrow is, for all intents and purposes, the lighting of a funeral pyre for Destiny 2, but what an incredible journey it's been over the years. It'll be a very fond farewell.
"The speaker spoke for the traveler. I had the honor of speaking for you. Now its your turn to speak for your community and for this world you have called your home for over a decade."
Thank you, Peter Jessop, for being our voice for so many years.

Forgive my tears…this one was tough. Thank you to every Warlock + Guardian who kept this legendary game alive for these past wonderful years. It has been an honor and privilege to have taken this journey with you. See you starside… 💙

To the Destiny 2 community,
Thank you.
As artists, our goal has always been to create worlds filled with wonder, mystery, beauty, and adventure. But what brings those worlds to life is you. You take our designs, our napkin sketches, our "wouldn't it be cool if..." ideas and transform them into something real. Your creativity, your passion, and your love for the game give our work purpose.
We've always believed Destiny could be a place where expression is celebrated, where players can see themselves and each other in the worlds we build, where every Guardian can forge their own legend—and you proved it.
Watching your Guardians grow, embrace new allies, take down bigger and badder bosses, solve mind-bending puzzles, dodge death traps, avoid Taken boopers, and overcome every Raid challenge we throw at you—all while looking incredible—has been a constant reminder of why this universe matters.
You shaped it. You made it matter. You are the light of Destiny.
With Monument of Triumph, we set out to create a series of love letters to Guardians, new and old. We shared a preview last week of armor inspired by early designs from the original Destiny but have also sprinkled some winks and nods throughout the rewards releasing tomorrow. We hope they feel like a small thank you for everything you’ve given us.
From all of us on the Destiny 2 art team, thank you for supporting us, inspiring us, and continuing to bring this world to life in ways we could never have imagined. You give our art meaning.
With gratitude,
The Destiny 2 Art Team
