I will never forget the day Goku’s power level went over 9000, and yes I cried when he went super saiyan on planet Namek. Thank you for the core memories to childhood that made growing up being a young black nerd ok. Your legacy will live on forever. R.I.P Akira Toriyama.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Akira Toriyama. His art and timeless stories had a significant impact in the manga industry and will forever be an inspiration to people around the world.
Thank you, Sensei.
This may likely be buried due to Toriyama-sensei’s passing, but another horrible loss occurred.
The voice actor of Maruko (Chibi Maruko-chan) passed away suddenly. She was 63.
If you’re anything like me, you also grew up watching Maruko’s antics. We’re not getting any breaks.

Masako Nozawa-san has released her comment on Toriyama’s passing:
“I don't want to believe it. My head is empty because I don't want to think about it.
Even so, every time I see Goku, I remember what Toriyama Sensei said to me, 'You will take care of Goku, won't you?'
I cherish that moment. It makes me think: 'I will stay by Goku's side until my strength runs out completely'.
Sensei, please watch over us from the heavens. We hope you depart in peace.”

Ryo Horikawa, the voice of Vegeta, reacts to Toriyama's passing.
"It was a bolt out of the blue, and even now I am filled with disbelief.
The series had just begun a new journey.
The story was supposed to be more and more thrilling and exciting.
It is too sudden.
It is a pity.
Thank you very much for giving birth to this wonderful work.
Please rest well."
Rest in peace to the manga legend Akira Toriyama. The artistry and monumental impact of Dragon Ball will live on in the hearts of fans and creators for generations to come.
