This is a terrible impact of cuts to UK aid abroad-praziquantel treatment needs to be available to reduce suffering and severe disease. It has a huge impact on keeping people, including lots of children, from getting sick with parasites.
“The danger is if we are not careful it may rebound... efforts and resources that have been put in would be wasted.” Important article in @thetimes on the catastrophic impact of reductions in UK aid on #schistosomiasis in #Zanzibar @sci_ntds 👇 https://t.co/zdswXxRqrK
I had a really touching virtual lab meeting with current and former lab members yesterday, marking my 20 yrs at @sangerinstitute and celebrating our joint success and fun together. Huge thanks to those who managed to come along, left messages, or contributed to my generous gift.

We are hiring a research assistant position in my group at @CamPathology @Cambridge_Uni . This is an exciting new line of research for us. The project investigates gastro-intestinal pathogens in birds. Please see https://t.co/tap4Mriafd for details.
@MHendr1cks Why not see who applies without the requirement for an MSc? You might be pleasantly surprised. Shame that your HR equated having an MSc with “more skill”-that is not always the case. For a lab manager I would prioritize years of experience in a position of responsibility anyway.
