@abhikataria@TahoeWeather (1) Maintenance on lifts is scheduled in advance and often can't be rescheduled. (2) Widlife comes out of hibernation whether it's a record snow year or not. (3) Endangered species need opportunities to flourish without human impact. (4) Transition to summer operations.
I think we should use the term “book coma” for that glorious feeling of reading yourself into a stupor of words, of getting so lost in a story that reality itself starts to fade
Literally me reading The Puma Years by @laurajcol in one day, forgetting I was on an airplane after @Bonnaroo was cancelled and remembering the rainforest with such clarity instead.

I've lived through wildfires since 2003, but I've learned more in the last month from @wildland_zko than the cumulative research I've done on my own. The Lookout is a phenomenal resource for those living in fire zones.
#CaldorFire - 9/8/2021
Our post today includes a video about 'burn severity' of the Caldor Fire. Where did the fire burn hottest? Why? Where are there still large trees surviving? We use satellite imagery to investigate, and discuss postfire restoration. https://t.co/8HqBa2DDY4
@TonyBakercomedy@zarg1215 There is an incredible book called Signs: The Secret Language of the Universe by Laura Jackson that has opened my heart to signs, alignments, and coincidences I can only describe as love letters from people I've lost suddenly and tragically.
Keeping your family in our hearts.
Last morning on the porch swing. Got my road map for September finished and three chapters of a new book written. Getting back into the swing of things before winter hits. Thanks for the much needed stillness Tennessee ❤
For my KidLit author friends as well as my friends and community impacted by Caldor. This is one of the greatest things to come from the internet the past few days and hope a few of you can participate.
@George_McNeese @KMWeiland Just here to say you're not a coward! Submitting is scary. Someone told me to turn it into a game. 100 Rejections for the Best Year ever. Started showing up at poetry readings, writing support groups, local writers meet up, ect. Community is everything in the process ❤
